How to receive R350 Grant Payment via Bank Account

Receiving payments through your bank account is probably the most convenient and fastest way to receive the grant; it also means you can avoid queuing in person at the Post Office.

The monthly amounts will be deposited into the beneficiary’s bank account in accordance with the grant application.

Please keep in mind that the bank details or cellular phone number provided for payment MUST be registered in the name of the approved applicant used in the Covid-19 R350 grant application process to ensure that payment reaches the intended recipients.


How to receive R350 Grant Payment Collection

Individuals who do not have banking information can collect their grant money from Post Office branches (SAPO/Post Bank), Pick-N-Pay, or Boxer stores.

Alternatively, you could use a Bank Mobile Money Transfer (cash send option).

You will only be able to collect the grant money once you have received an SMS confirmation that payment has been confirmed. The SRD Grant Payment Dates for this week are listed in the table below.

What is SASSA Status “PENDING”

Unfortunately, when many people check their Sassa status online, it only shows “pending” and they are unable to receive the R350. On June 1, 2022, the official SASSA issued the following message:

Payments for the new cycle of the special COVID-19 SRD grant (beginning in April 2022) will be made beginning in mid-June 2022.

As soon as the bank details are confirmed, SASSA will continue clearing outstanding payments from the previous cycle.

The payments will not be made all at once, but rather month by month.

Payment may be made more than once a month, but no one will receive double payments in amount.

SASSA will make multiple payments per month until the backlog is cleared, at which point monthly payments will resume.

  5. Complete the remaining steps for payment reconsideration.

Is the SASSA Reconfirmation no longer required?

SASSA declared on September 9th that people are no longer obliged to verify their grants every three months. Many people were opposed to this protocol. SASSA’s requirements have not been changed, and people are no longer required to submit replies to screening questions every three months.


What to do if My SASSA SRD Covid-19 Grant is Approved but not paid?

Those accepted but not yet paid have outstanding bank accounts, bank accounts with failed bank account verification, bank accounts awaiting National Treasury verification, or those who chose Cash to make payments (which were made from the 19th of September 2022).
